What to Expect at Your First Red Light Therapy Session

Starting something new can feel exciting and a little uncertain. To help you feel fully prepared, here’s everything you need to know before your first Red Light Therapy (RLT) appointment with us.

Session Duration

Please allow 60 minutes for your first visit. This includes a brief screening consultation, optional body measurements, and your first treatment.

Your First Session Includes:

  • Initial exam & brief health history
  • Optional Pre-treatment measurements (to establish your baseline)
  • Green tea serum applied to the face to prep the skin and accelerate rejuvenation.
  • 30-minute Full-Body Red Light Therapy session
  • Vitamin C serum to amplify your skin’s glow and improve overall skin tone
  • A face massage using rosehip oil to support cell turnover, promote collagen production and boost skin healing
  • 10-minute Hypervibe Vibration Plate session (to assist lymphatic drainage)

If you’ve opted to include the infrared sauna, please allow an additional 30 minutes. The sauna enhances results by supporting the body’s  natural detox process. Not using the sauna? We recommend a 30-minute brisk walk or jog after your session to encourage lymphatic drainage and optimise results.

What to Wear

For best results:

  • Women: sports bra + cotton underwear
  • Men: cotton underwear or sports shorts

This ensures the light can reach targeted areas effectively while maintaining comfort and hygiene.

Future Sessions

After your first appointment, ongoing sessions will take approximately:

  • 30 minutes in the Red Light Pod + 10 minutes on the Hypervibe plate
  • 90 minutes if including the infrared sauna

Perfect for fitting into your weekly schedule—or even your lunch break!

Hydration is Key

Red Light Therapy works best when your body is well-hydrated. Please:

  • Drink at least 1.5L of water in the 1–2 hours before your appointment
  • Avoid caffeine on treatment days (it can restrict circulation, dehydrate you, and reduce effectiveness)
  • Drink at least another litre of water throughout the day to support detoxification

Pro tip: Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated before and after your session.

Why Avoid Sun Exposure After RLT?

After Red Light Therapy, your skin is in a responsive, healing state. To protect your results, avoid sun exposure (including tanning beds) for at least 24 hours. Here’s why:

  • Skin sensitivity – RLT may temporarily make your skin more light-sensitive.
  • Healing focus – UV rays can interfere with the body’s cellular repair process.
  • Reduced risk of damage – Sun exposure increases free radicals and inflammation, which counteract RLT’s benefits.
  • Consistency of results – Protecting your skin ensures long-lasting benefits like improved circulation, collagen support, and detoxification.

We are so excited to support you on your health and body transformation journey. Your first Red Light Therapy session is your first step towards feeling refreshed, revived, rejuvenated, and restored.
